Meet Rachel Taylor, our central business office administrative assistant and a graduate of the BHS Class of 2006! 🙌
She has worked with the district for four years and loves that her four children attending our schools have some of the same teachers that she did growing up.
Rachel’s organizational skills and dedication help keep operations running smoothly. We appreciate all she does on a daily basis!


Justin Johnson will serve as the next assistant principal of Boone High School! 🌟
Justin has 15 years of experience in education, nine years as a teacher/coach at Earlham, and six years as the Dean of Students/Activities Director at Madrid. He received his master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Drake University and is a proud graduate of Central College.
He currently lives in Madrid with his wife, Mary, and two daughters. They love spending time outdoors, cheering on the Vikings and the Hawkeyes, and going on family vacations.
Justin is thrilled to join the team and looks forward to building relationships with the students, staff, and families at BHS. Join us in welcoming him!

🎉 Congratulations to our agriculture science teacher, Jim Fitzgerald, for being selected as Iowa’s 2024 Outstanding Ag Teacher by the Iowa Association of Agricultural Educators!
This award distinguishes secondary and post-secondary agricultural education teachers who are conducting the highest quality agricultural education programs in the state. The award recognizes leadership in civic, community, agriculture/agribusiness, and professional activities.
As the state winner, Mr. Fitzgerald advances to compete as the Iowa representative in the Region 3 Outstanding Ag Teacher Award for the National Association of Agricultural Educators. Way to represent Boone CSD!
